5 easy steps to lose weight gain as you age

Preventing weight gain is an ongoing battle for many people.

As we begin to age, our activity levels can drop, and we may still maintain our eating habits as they were when we were younger. This does not fit well into the energy expenditure equation, leading to rapid weight gain and possibly exposure to other diseases due to obesity.

The key to prevention is that you need to be aware of all the choices you make about activity levels and food choices. Throughout our lives, we have a choice to make ourselves look healthy or not. The key is, to be honest with yourself about the choice you are making. It’s never too late to make a change, but it helps if you tune in to the necessary motion changes. It’s not something you do for a month, but a lifelong commitment to good health and long, healthy life.

Below I will highlight some of the basic things you can do to prevent weight gain throughout your life.

Five easy steps to reduce weight gain as you age.

1-Be aware of your nutrition. You don't have to be a geek, but try to understand as much as possible about your macro ranges. Make your wholesome, healthy, and natural food the primary source of your nutritional value every day, while limiting sugars and refined foods. If something comes out of the ground from the dirt, you can be assured that your body can process that, and it will be used as a source of nutrients.

2-Limit the time you sit and keep moving. Our activity levels may decrease as we get older, and as they say, if you don't use it, you lose it. Be aware of the number of hours you sit, and spend more time being active. Join the gym and exercise, get outdoors and take a walk, and play sports. Do what is right for you. Not only will it help you keep your body in shape, but it will also give you a sharper mind and give you a way to connect with others.

3-Stay away from sugar and processed foods. It is very easy to overeat during stressful moments. We seem to have more as we age with new responsibilities. It's easy to get that quick sugar fix, and then everything falls apart. Try to limit them in your diet, as they will make you feel tired and rush to eat more calories than you should.

4-Lots of good things are still wrong. When we eat something well, there is still a chance of gaining weight. I think this is the downfall of healthy eating. Maintaining your macro range is very important. To make it easier on yourself, only eat when you're hungry, and resist the temptation to keep snacking or overeating as much as possible. The only thing that was a big problem for me was chewing when stressed. It takes a lot of courage to call yourself crap. But I urge you to do it for you and your health too. Nobody can take care of you as much as you can.

5-Be ok because it's a constant battle. I don't know about you, but I always have to be very aware of how much activity I do and the food I eat. I can't maintain my physique normally unless I work hard for it. I envy those people who find it easy. If you don't see anything about maintaining your weight easily, you're in good company. It will take effort, to avoid bad habits and patience. After a while, you won't mind.

As I learned so much about myself and the possibilities, I learned it because of the trip. I have no regrets. And you will, too.
